Zaire 74, this documentary is sooo amazing   I even got the t-shirt- which is now a pillow :)

PS: it looks kinda saggy in this pic, but not in real life. in real life this pillow is full and hefty.

esta peli es una cuchura y si estas pasando un guayabo te va a caer de perla!  es una belleza de pelicula.

la historia es divina , esta contada pa’ lante y pa’ atras  y bueno….zooey deschanel es de verdad un encanto! (aunque esta pegada haciendo el mismo papel, pero x)  Lo mas chevere de la pelicula, en mi opinion,  es el excelente uso de recursos cinematograficos.  Me encanto el uso del split screen  (cosa que generalmente no apoyo mucho, pero esta vez si!) Hay una secuencia de baile que tiene absoluta relacion con la de “enchanted”  increible!  está llena de referencias  tanto en los recursos visuales como en el  dialogo…  syd and nancy!

tambien  me llamo la atencion que los personajes en la historia deben ser exactamente de misma edad-son pocas las pelis que uno siente eso, no?

es un corto animado por el talentoso y joven Kunio Kato esta nominado a los Oscar’s este año. es una belleza. será que gana?

la cosa es que esta compitiendo con un corto que se llama “This way Up” y es fantástico también…

en cualquier caso, recomiendo enormemente ver  en IFC Center los cortos animados y de live action de este año.

Went to see “Surfwise” last night, a documentary on the legendary Paskowitz family of surfers and their-not normal, surely enviable- lifestyle.

For a minute I felt like quitting my job, take off ,start a family, live in a 20ft trailer and never look back. But, truth is that reality can be very cruel if you aren’t raised aware of it.

This film is a must see!It inspire me so BAD!

An excellent intimate point of view of B-Boys culture and what is really about. This film proves that Hip-Hop is a multi cultural phenomenon, and shows how each culture adds it’s own twist and pushes it forward. At some point of the movie I found myself taking deep breaths before b-boys where performing  their last battle! It’s got so much energy. Me encanto! I fully recommend this film. + The Venezuelan kid break dancing in a plaza in Caracas at the credit sequence won my heart, Of course!
